Author and Sr. Portfolio Manager at Divita Capital
I am the co-founder and Senior Portfolio Manager of Divita Capital and the Divita Value-Growth Fund, where I manage a concentrated portfolio of long-term compounding businesses. My focus is on value investing, business valuation, and capital allocation — particularly on how reinvestment decisions and management’s choices drive shareholder returns over time. I am also the author of Wall Street’s Blind Spots: A Unique Perspective on Value Investing, Valuation and Capital Allocation (2025). In the book, I challenge conventional valuation frameworks and highlight the blind spots even sophisticated investors often miss. My goal is to give readers a practical, common-sense approach to understanding whether a company is truly compounding value, drawing on my day-to-day experience as a fund manager. Over the course of my career, I have worked across investment banking, corporate finance, and asset management, analyzing global equities across various sectors. I hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and combine rigorous financial analysis with a contrarian mindset. I enjoy making complex investing concepts accessible to a wide audience. I regularly speak and write about valuation, capital allocation strategies, and the behavioral biases that influence markets — always with the goal of helping investors and entrepreneurs think differently about long-term value creation. Living and working in Guatemala gives me a distinctive international perspective. I frequently engage with audiences in both Latin America and the U.S., and I aim to help investors, entrepreneurs, and executives think differently. Whether I am explaining why traditional DCF models often mislead, discussing how to assess a company’s reinvestment profile, or sharing lessons from managing my own fund, I bring clarity, practical frameworks, and a passion for long-term investing to every conversation.

Senior Portfolio Manager at Lycos Asset Management Inc.
I work with you and your family to build your portfolio and develop a stable recurring income for your lifetime and that of your loved ones.We try to make that income tax efficient, so that we have as much after-tax income in your pocket to provide you with a comfortable retirement. For your non-registered monies, we generate tax preferred income through Canadian dividends that receive the dividend tax credit. As an example, there is a family I work with that receives about $100,000 in Canadian dividends every year from their joint account. Of this amount, $50,000 is taxed in each spouse's tax return along with their RRIFs and government pensions. As such, they pay very little taxes and have almost all of that income for their living needs. The dividends are of Canadian companies that are common shares and preferred shares. The common shares are of large dominant businesses with stable earnings enough to fund the dividends; like banks, telecoms, pipelines/utilities, insurance companies, etc. These companies are the type that clients are generally very comfortable with holding. Although the common share prices can fluctuate up and down through time, they have typically paid dividends for more than 50 years and are ones I feel can continue to pay well into the future. In addition to common shares, we hold higher quality Canadian preferred shares to generate tax preferred income and stability to your portfolio. We structure your personal investments to act like a pension. We use a fund to hold up to a year of cash needs. From this fund we take regular monthly withdrawals and automate transfers to your bank account every month. We then scoup up the dividends to top up the fund.As we want you to have a well diversified portfolio, we hold bonds and foreign stocks in tax registered accounts, like an RRSP, RRIF or TFSA.I do more than just managing investments. I provide estate planning to make sure your estate will pass to your spouse, children and other loved ones in a tax efficient way. And through financial planning, we want to make sure your financial situation doesn't get derailed if "life happens".The biggest value some say I provide, is that you and your family have someone who is experienced and knowedgeable in financial matters to help you, your spouse and children (especially after you have passed away) throughout your lives.I look forward to hearing from you:Office Tel: 604-288-2083Toll free: 1-855-855-9267 Extension 2Office Email: steve@lycosasset.comKindest regards,Steve Nyvik, BBA, MBA, CIM, CFP, R.F.P.

Director of Portfolio Liquidity & Asset Disposition at Fitzgerald Advisors
I am an Institutional Debt Market Architect with more than 17 years of experience designing the valuation, liquidity, and recovery protocols that banks, credit unions, fintech lenders, and private credit funds rely on to make high-stakes decisions. I’ve advised on, analyzed, or helped broker over $100 billion in performing and non-performing receivables across consumer, commercial, auto, BNPL, mortgage, and specialty finance asset classes. My work sits at the intersection of portfolio valuation, lending risk, distressed-asset strategy, and AI-driven recovery intelligence. I help institutions understand the true condition of their receivables, uncover hidden risk, and translate complex credit dynamics into clear, actionable decisions. When lenders need to determine whether to hold, recover, restructure, or sell an asset, I’m the person they call. As Director of Portfolio Liquidity & Asset Disposition at Fitzgerald Advisors, I architect and execute loan-sale strategies, oversee due diligence, and structure NPL and charged-off debt transactions that maximize proceeds while maintaining regulatory integrity. I also build the technology that powers modern receivables strategy. I created Debt Catalyst, an AI-driven valuation and liquidation-curve engine used by professional debt buyers and investors. I developed Bank Watch Pro, a real-time intelligence platform that interprets FDIC and NCUA call-report data to identify institutional credit risk, NPL trends, charge-off exposure, and early-warning indicators. Across my ventures, I focus on one mission: turning distressed receivables, delinquency, and charge-offs into liquidity, clarity, and competitive advantage for financial institutions. I provide expert commentary on: Distressed portfolio valuation & credit-risk analysis NPL and charged-off debt sales Fintech lending trends & BNPL credit performance Bank & credit union financial health (FDIC/NCUA analytics) AI in collections, segmentation, and liquidation modeling Regulatory and compliance implications in debt markets I don’t follow the debt markets — I architect them. And I use that experience to help lenders, investors, and agencies make smarter, faster, and more profitable decisions.

Writer & Author
I'm an experienced manager with wealth of knowledge in project management, help/service desk management, and finance.I consider time management to be one of my most successful areas of improvement in recent years. Combining Kanban, the Pomodoro Technique, and Covey's 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People' has enabled me to really focus my time on what needs to get done during my day. One byproduct of this has been weening myself off constant email checking (combined with judicious use of filtering). IM is the next stage, although that's certainly more of a challenge!Leading a team is another area that I've spent a lot of time developing. However, unlike time management this isn't something you can just read in a book and expect to translate into real life. I believe that the 'team', is the place where people truly live when they're at work. It will have its own culture, and ways of doing things. Making sure someone fits into the team, and feels safe and valued inside it, is paramount. The leader is the person who needs to make this happen. It begins with recruitment of course, and then onwards to training, performance, goals, and development. Even when someone leaves for a new position, you hope that it's because it's the right thing for them and that you did all you could for them when they were in your team.I'm a huge fan of David Marquet's Intent-based Leadership philosophy, primarily because he actually implemented it and showed that it works. I use it, and try to instill the same mentality in my team. It promotes ownership, and thinking, and the sense of value that comes with not being told what to do, but thinking of the best way forward yourself. In my Project Management work I've always tried to balance 'on time, on cost, and on spec', although with a healthy dose of understanding that any of the 3 constraints may need to flex to get the project done. My primary focus is always communication with the client. Many issues can be traced back to no/bad communication (and not just in the Project world!). Keeping the client informed, even if its bad news, makes a huge difference to the relationship between the PM and the client. Things go wrong: people get sick, critical stuff gets missed from scopes, deadlines get pushed; dealing with these inside the framework of a good working relationship should mean that both sides understand, and work with each other. There's no such thing as the perfect employee, or the perfect job fit. But the perfect team? That's possible, if you blend youth and experience under excellent leadership.
