My mom was an artist and my dad was a carpenter. I grew up helping them do hands-on remodeling work in our home, and discovered early on that I wanted to become an architect. I earned my Bachelor of Architecture at Cornell University, becoming a licensed architect at the unusually young age of twenty-six. After college and a year working in Boston, I drove across the country to join the LA architecture scene in 2002. For years, I’d dreamed of owning my own firm, a place where I could pursue meaningful projects and provide the kind of dedicated, personalized design experience you simply won’t find in a large corporate office. My early start led me to found Letter Four with Jeremy Baker, whose construction expertise was the perfect complement to my design skills. I now have more than 20 years of hands-on experience designing luxurious residences and commercial spaces in the greater LA area and across the country, including New York, Hawaii, Texas, DC, and San Francisco. As head of our architectural design team, I thrive on close collaboration with our team to solve our clients’ problems by pushing the boundaries of design, exploring new possibilities and finding unique yet practical solutions for homes and commercial buildings. Graduating with a BS degree in Architecture, cum laude, and a Diploma of Higher Education in Conservation & Sustainability from Griffiths College, Dublin, Francis has worked as a Design Architect for Aidea Philippines (one of the top 100 architectural firms in the world). He was later seconded to Brussels, working with Procter & Gamble (P&G) Architecture & Design for their Europe, Middle East and African portfolio (as architect, co-project manager, brand specialist and graphic designer). He's now based in Co. Limerick, Ireland, having previously worked for a top interior specialist in the Ireland and now practices as an interior and architectural designer, graphic designer and visual artist, as well as working in millinery and jewellery design. He had a solo exhibition in Westport, and worked on various art commissions, including HSE hospitals and hospices. iSCO Designs, his design agency, is a multidisciplinary creative studio where bespoke interior design meets eye-catching visual art and graphic design. I’ve spent more than 20 years working in 3D visualization, building on my background in industrial design from HfG Offenbach. When I started Render Vision, I wanted it to stand on three simple but powerful principles: precision, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving. For me, great 3D rendering isn’t just about technical perfection - it’s about emotion. I love using small, almost invisible details - like how morning light filters through curtains or how atmosphere shapes the feeling of a space - to make people feel what they see. That idea grew into what I now call “emotional realism.” It’s become the heart of Render Vision’s work and what makes our images stand out in an industry that often focuses purely on the technical side. To make sure this approach runs through everything we do, I developed a shared visual language for the team. It helps every artist understand and create that same emotional depth - so together, we can tell stories through spaces that people don’t just look at, but truly connect with.

I don’t remember life before construction and design. My grandfather was a master carpenter, and as a kid I spent countless hours with him in his woodshop, absorbing the art of custom craftsmanship and the value of hard work. When I wasn’t Granddad’s shadow, I was helping my parents restore historic brownstone homes. Those hands-on experiences shaped my passion for design, problem-solving and the art of building functional spaces. That foundation led me on a journey from small-town New England through New York City and Philadelphia to ultimately landing in Los Angeles. Along the way, I honed my construction skills, refined my design sensibilities and developed a deep understanding of how people interact with the built environment. I met a brilliant architect named Lauren Adams and we collaborated on multiple projects. In 2010, we noticed a gap that bothered both of us: there just weren’t many firms offering a true turnkey design-build service. Homeowners and business owners had to juggle architects, interior designers, contractors and engineers, leading to frustrating delays, budget overruns and disjointed projects. We knew there was a better and simpler way, and so Letter Four was born.
