Seeking U.S. expert commentary from automotive repair specialists, mechanics, salvage yard operators, or insurance professionals on the true cost of restoring a salvage vehicle. Responses must be specific to the U.S.
We’re looking for insight into:
- The most expensive vehicle components to repair or replace after major damage (e.g., frame damage, airbags, EV batteries, electronics, suspension, ADAS systems)
- Hidden repair costs buyers often overlook when rebuilding salvage vehicles
- Common issues that can turn a “cheap fix” into a budget blowout
- Additional costs involved in making a salvage vehicle roadworthy again, including inspections, labor, parts sourcing, recalibration, and title/registration requirements
- Types of damage that are typically not worth repairing from a financial perspective
You must be able to demonstrate experience in the automotive space. Pitches from other industries will not be accepted. You must also be willing to supply your name, job title, picture, and a link to your website.
