A recent Harris/Workforce Edge survey of healthcare employees and employers finds mixed signals from Gen Z/under-30 providers on what would keep them at a job.
While these workers overwhelmingly value long-term job security and 65% expect to stay with an employer for five or more years, 70% expect to explore a new role in the next year.
Employers also find Gen Z the most difficult cohort to retain.
Much of what is written about Gen Z is based on generalities and stereotypes, such as diminished expectations and impatience.
We are interested in hearing from experts who deal with young physicians and other healthcare personnel in recruitment or on the job and who can address:
- How, if at all, under-30 healthcare providers differ from their colleagues in terms of outlook, expectations, and work/life preferences;
- What, if anything, has been demonstrated to help bond such employees to a practice, whether in terms of salary and benefits, extras such as education, or management style.
