I became enamored with the business potential of voicemail services back in 1996, about the time that the Telecom Deregulation Act was kicking in. I loved technology and the newly deregulated landscape of telecom, and I saw a niche in voicemail. So I installed a T1 line and voicemail server in my basement and began selling.
