Lourdes Huiracocha-Tutivén is Vice-Rector of Research and Innovation at the University of Cuenca and Founder and Director of Centro Huiracocha Tutivén: Neurodesarrollo, a nonprofit center in Cuenca, Ecuador dedicated to supporting children’s development. Her work is deeply personal: growing up alongside her younger brother with Down syndrome shaped her understanding of disability, care, and inclusion, and inspired her to create services for other families facing similar challenges. A pediatrician and researcher, Dr. Huiracocha-Tutivén focuses on neurodevelopment, disability, child nutrition, and early childhood health in Latin America.
