During my time in Colombia, I helped the displaced population, ex-combatants, and social leaders who were part of the armed conflict to reinvent their stories. I saw their pain and our ability to integrate the best of our past into the present, even when that present is very tough. However, my journey to understanding how to transform a crisis began with going through a chronic illness and recovering.
